The U.S. Housing market is still appreciating and Mortgage interest rates are at all time lows. This is a very good time to be in the market to purchase. Mortgage Professionals at BNC can assist you through the process and help you select the right loan program. There are many things to consider when you are looking to purchase a new home.
1. Check your credit history and work to make sure it is as clean as possible a few months before you start house hunting. You can get a free copy of your credit report at AnnualCreditReport.com once a year.
2. Look for homes in your price range and that you can truly afford. Online calculators can help but typically a house should be around 1 to 1/1/2 times your annual salary. Have a financial plan so you can save for the down payment and so you know your true financial situation.
3. Be an informed buyer. Gather information about the neighborhood, schools, etc. so you can get an idea of a fair price and the changes in value in the area. Appraisals, home inspectors and a good real estate agent are important must haves.
4. Be sure to select a mortgage professional that is experienced, knowledgeable and easy to work with.
